Yamuna Body Rolling- Shoulders and Upper Back
Yamuna® Body Rolling is a fresh approach to opening and strengthening your body. YBR will give your body correct alignment and free its energy, all while giving you a complete workout that increases your core strength and tones your muscles.
As a nonimpact technique to achieve both fitness and wellness, the concept of Body Rolling is quite simple: your body weight sinks into the ball as your body elongates this creates traction that allows a deep release giving you the benefits of a full body fitness workout, yoga, massage and healing — all rolled into one.
In this particular workshop we focus on the upper back and shoulders as this is often a problematic area for most people both in day to day movement and in their yoga practice.
Realign your shoulders and create space in the upper back, shoulder girdle and torso. Nichi will go through anatomy of the shoulders and give you simple sequences that you can do anytime. Equipment will be provided on the day and balls are available to purchase after the workshop.
Yamuna Body rolling was developed by yoga teacher Yamuna Zake and Nichi is one of only a handful of practitioners in the U.K. Since first rolling over 5 years ago Nichi has found that it has informed both her teaching and her practice considerably giving the same deep relaxed and calm feeling that yoga imparts but often with much quicker results. Nichi has been teaching yoga for 19 years and is director of The Yoga Space in Leeds- www.theyogaspace.co.uk. She runs retreats and workshops in U.K, Europe and Sri Lanka.
