“I started coming to Flexi-time’s Yoga at Work sessions because I need to get quite a bit of exercise (doctor’s orders to prevent osteoporosis) The lunchtime slot suits me as it is no trouble to go and nothing else gets in the way. I did join a gym a year or two back but found it hard to stay motivated to go regularly. I have never been a sporty person so find yoga ideal for exercise, finding that I really buzz afterwards and feel really energised.”

The venue is just beautiful. A private studio in a fabulous garden in a very quiet place. 12 of us gather on a Thursday evening for our class. It is our best kept secret. ”My sister in law, Fiona, asked me to join Flexi time’s private yoga session so they could get enough together to have a regular class – I am so glad she persuaded me to come along! I often arrive stressed (late!) & thinking of so many different things at once. Whilst at the class I slow down, take the deep breaths as directed by the teacher & gradually relax. My body is certainly benefiting from all the stretches and I can already feel that I can stretch further in most poses after only a few months. The main benefit to me is that I spend an hour a week looking after myself instead of everybody else, & by the end of the class my mind is calmer & I can therefore think more logically. The rest of my life seems to whiz by at such a mad pace it is great to have an hour or so in the week to slow down!”

I went along to Flexi time’s Yoga at Work sessions with an open mind and found that I could do it without too much difficulty. It was a great feeling progressing class by class and gradually attaining more flexibility.
