Join Eleanor for a quiet afternoon of exploring practical methods to manage depression through a blend of yoga poses, breathing techniques and guided meditation to help you rediscover balance and peace.
Depression is not something to be ignored – it is on the rise within our society. In England alone, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week (mind.org). Though yoga in of itself is not a cure, mental health issues such as depression or anxiety could benefit greatly from using a holistic approach to their management. In this workshop Eleanor will share some simple practical solutions that she herself has found invaluable in her own daily life when finding herself entering into an anxious or stressful state.
The Yin Yoga style is one that offers a slow, deep practice helping you dig into the connective tissues that surround the joints and help release unnecessary and unconscious tension. For this release to occur, the poses in Yin Yoga are held for a few minutes at a time as you are encouraged to approach things slowly and gently to observe the correlation between mind and body. This workshop will also blend some supported standing poses to help lift moods, find strength and draw confidence in standing tall.
All levels of practitioners, from any school of yoga are welcome to join in the workshop to help restore balance and equanimity in their life.
Please notify me should you have any injuries/medical conditions that will affect your practice upon booking.
